Introduction to Experimental Design and Core Statistics

On December 8-10, 2025 the GIBA network+ organized a training session at the West Hub in Cambridge on “Introduction to Experimental Design and Core Statistics”. The course aimed to provide an overview of experimental design and fundamental principles of statistical analyses to aid GIBA researchers. Our lecturers (George Savva, James Gallagher and Sandro Leidi) prepared a combination of theoretical and practical sessions around topics such as descriptive statistics, probability, hypothesis testing and logistic regression. We were joined in-person by 19 GIBA members across the UK, who noted the “easily digestible, high-quality presentations and practicals”.
